The best bet for the least amount of headache would be to visit the Disneyland park on a non-summer month, and during the middle of the week. While it might be more difficult to get the day off of work, or get the kids out of class for a day, trust me when I say that due to the short Disneyland line wait times, one day of entertainment on the weekday would be the equivalent of spending every weekend for 2 months in the park in order to ride the same amount of attractions. Save yourself the long lines!

What are the best days to go? Well historically and as anyone would assume: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are the least busy days. Weekends can be over twice as busy as the weekdays. If you must go on a weekend, Sunday is much less busy than Saturday.
Days to Avoid Disneyland
Anaheim weather predictions play a large role in the crowds at Disneyland and Disneyland California Adventure. If the current weather conditions are good, and weather forecasts predict rain later in the week, crowds will rush their families to Disneyland resulting in increased attendance.
Whenever a large sporting event takes place in San Diego or Los Angeles, it will bring massive amounts of interstate traffic flooding the Southern California area (college football games, NBA games, etc.), who will be looking for some form of entertainment before and after the game all of them curious about how crowded is Disneyland!. This will more than likely mean taking the family to Disneyland. Avoid these types of weekends as well.
Make certain to avoid 3 day weekends at all costs, as the number of tourists will triple. Definitely want to avoid any national school holidays for USA as that will guarantee the park will be 3 times as busy! The beginning of summer when the schools let out will be a nightmare if you are not accustomed to tens of thousands of screaming children all shoving to be at the front of the ride.
Currently, due to the recent release of the upgraded Star Tours, the lines in that section of the park have become extremely heavy, and as such you may wish to avoid heading into Tomorrowland during the weekend, and stick to the other areas of the park (that is unless you have a fast pass or enjoy waiting in line for an hour). I can guarantee its pretty packed unless its tuesday, wednesday, or thursday in Jan/Feb, May (minus holidays), Septemer-November, or pre-Christmas!
